Lexxicorp Announces Study-Now Launch

Lexxicorp Pty., Ltd. (www.lexxicorp.com) announces the launch of Study-Now (www.study-now.com), an innovative e-learning site that provides content for the student of English as a second language. Built on a multilingual platform, the Study-Now curriculum presently includes a highly-interactive and comprehensive Business English course that takes students from beginner to advanced levels, and a number of unique short courses that address specific skills, such as email or telephone technique.

Sydney-based Lexxicorp is working with its affiliate company in Tokyo, Trans-Asia Inc., in a sales effort initially aimed at institutions in Australia and Japan. The companies reveal that Study-Now has already generated considerable excitement in the pre-launch promotional phase. The site has an array of potential applications, for example as an in-house training curriculum for multinational corporations, as supporting material for language training institutions and as high-level content for e-learning or general portal sites.

What makes Study-Now unique is its choice of access levels. The first level offers users access to the rich multimedia online content, which in itself represents an excellent course of instruction in English. At the second level, students are able to submit writing exercises, which are marked by teachers and returned with feedback. At the third level, students are also able to interact with live teachers through telephone and online chat sessions. For corporate users, a fourth level is available, in which teachers are dispatched to the user’s site to provide instruction based on the Study-Now curriculum.

The content itself consists of 200 lessons, each running about one hour. Each lesson presents a realistic business situation and is replete with topical business terminology. Extensive use of audio aids with listening comprehension and is ideal for students wishing to prepare for English skills tests. All relevant points of grammar and style are covered in the course.

Lexxicorp CEO Mel J. Pach says, "We’ve designed this course to give companies a cost-effective and flexible tool for improving the language skills of their employees. But we’ve also received considerable interest from schools and e-learning portals, which see Study-Now as quality content to complement their existing offerings."

Study-Now is initially being made available to organizations only, but will be open to individual users in early October 2002. Lexxicorp is planning to add additional courses to the site.

Lexxicorp Pty., Ltd. was founded in Adelaide in December 1992, transferring to Sydney in 1996. The company has provided language and design services to leading companies in Australia, and has also serviced the Japanese market through its affiliate in Tokyo. Starting in 2001, Lexxicorp (pronounced as "Q-net") added significant capabilities in multilingual web applications, as demonstrated by the launch of Study-Now. The company is also developing an innovative online translation booking and management service called Qwik-Trans, which is scheduled for launch in late October 2002. Trans-Asia Inc. is Lexxicorp’s Tokyo-based affiliate. Incorporated in September 1994 based on a translation business originally established at the end of 1990, the company has since earned an impressive reputation in the Japanese market for its comprehensive language-related services, which include translation, interpretation, desktop publishing and printing. The company is also the sales and support agent for Study-Now and Qwik-Trans in Japan. Visit Trans-Asia at www.trans-asia.com.
